Delivery of the project saw some complex obstacles overcome through early involvement and critical risk identification with regards to design and intended execution. WBHO-I worked closely with the client’s design team to offer constructability advice. This early involvement was vital in ensuring the project proceeded and ensured accurate cost and quantity control.
WBHO-I carefully managed the interface with a major Interstate freight rail line over which the new haul road was to be constructed. WBHO-I implemented effective rail traffic management to ensure the works was able to continue with as little impact as possible. This initiative was well regarded as it ultimately provided a more long-term alternative while a more comprehensive redesign of the rail crossing control system was undertaken.
