Conversion Package Residue Storage Area 1S & DAR

WBHO-I returned to Alcoa’s Pinjarra mine site to upgrade and convert RSA1s and DAR for Alcoa in 2018. This project involved the conversion and upgrade of Residue Storage Area 1 South and all related drainage, sprinklers, pump stations, inlet towers, mud droppers and HDPE lining.

As part of the project, the embankments were upgraded including all access and crest roadways.

The project also included the reshaping, preparation and reversing of the existing northern and eastern perimeter drains with erosion protection, HDPE lining and fibre concrete liner protection to the walls and floor.

The Mud to Lake Booster Station was also upgraded. This involved dewatering, detailed excavation around live refinery infrastructure, in-situ concrete retaining walls, sumps and slab wash down area.
