Continuous raise of Telfer Tailings Storage Facility
This project involved the continuous upstream raising of the perimeter embankment and the raising of the decant causeway of the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF7) at Newcrest Mining’s Telfer operation. Works were undertaken in a live, operational environment, with staged construction and tails depositioning activities.

Embankments were constructed utilising material borrowed from the mines OSM stockpile. The works also include the removal and reinstatement of the HDPE tailings distribution ring main and associated valves, fittings and discharge pipes.
Rock armour is was placed to the external batter upon completion of each 3.0m high embankment raise. In addition, WBHO-I also upgraded and maintained existing haul roads.
