Residue Storage Area 10 Upgrade at Pinjarra Mine Site
WBHO-I has been a longstanding partner at Alcoa Australia refinery sites in WA, delivering capital and maintenance works for two decades. Works have involved major civil and structural contracts and numerous minor contracts, with activities ranging from maintenance works to construction of a Residue Storage Area 10.

RSA10 was approximately 100ha footprint, and consisting of bulk earthworks, tri-liner impervious membrane, sand and drainage layer, along with decant and sprinkler systems and associated roads and infrastructure. Key project elements included:
- 739,000m3 bulk excavation
- 4,800m drainage channel diversion
- 494,000m3 clay liner
- 3,000,000m2 tri-liner (HDPE/GCL/HDPE)
- 674,000m3 Residue Sand Layer
- 95km underdrainage, draincoil and underdrainage collection pipe and
- 20km decant piping, decant tower and sprinkler installation
WBHO-I worked closely with Alcoa through Early Contractor Involvement in the design and pre-construction phase to collaboratively develop costings, address design issues and constructability.
