Western Roads Upgrade
WBHO Infrastructure delivered this historic project as the construction partner in the Netflow JV on the largest single investment in Melbourne’s road network, the Western Roads Upgrade Project – a public-private partnership. Eight major road upgrades have been delivered across Melbourne’s west, 37 other sections of roads have been rehabilitated and eight bridges and structures repaired.

The Western Roads Upgrade has reduced congestion and slashed travel times on:
- Dunnings and Palmers Road
- Palmers Road
- Derrimut Road
- Leakes Road
- Dohertys Road
- Forsyth Interchange
- Duncans Interchange.
The Initial Construction Projects included:
- 100km of new traffic lanes
- 8 new bridges and 3 bridge widenings
- 50km of new Shared User Paths
- 60km of pipe culverts
- 120km kerbs and channels
- 320,000 tonnes of asphalt
- 44 million lost time injury free hours
The project has cut time spent on the road by an average of 20 per cent and supported more than 1,000 local jobs. Major construction on the biggest investment in Melbourne’s roads ever, the Western Roads Upgrade, is now complete.
